Don’t know if you know that about me, but I like to take photos.

Of course, the camera doesn’t really matter (I mean, Jackson Pollock could do the same lovely splatters with a $5 brush and a $6 brush!), but any work/craft is more pleasurable with a suitable tool in hand.

I’ve been through quite a few of them over the years. Here’s my attempt to document the cameras that I have used, starting with most recent first (just like a CV!).

Leica M10 | 2026—

So far with just the Voigtlander 35/2 Ultron lens, which I’m quite fond of.

Nikon Z6_2 | 2025—2026

Lenses:

  • Nikkor Z 24—70 2.8 lens – a “workhorse” professional zoom, which was sadly quite soft on the long end for me
  • Nikkor 35/1.4 prime – lovely rendering, very reasonable price; highly recommended!

The ergonomics of the Z6 are fantastic – you can really feel that this body has been designed with professionals in mind.

Fujifilm X-T3 | 2020—2025

I still miss OOC results from this Fuji. Lenses I used with it:

  • Fujinon 16/1.4 – my most used lens on the Fuji. Awesome wide-angle perspective with a narrow depth-of-field, built like a tank. I even got the sexy rectangular lens hood for it <3
  • Fujinon 27/2.8 pancake – fantastic take-anywhere lens. I’ve always been a fan of ~40 mil perspective, and this little Fujinon did not disappoint.
  • Zeiss 32/1.8 Touit – I adored the classic rendering of this piece of glass!
  • Fujinon 56/1.2 – I didn’t use it a lot, but whenever I did, I was impressed with the results.

Ricoh GR | 2018—2020

Slow AF, otherwise a perfect travel camera, I’d say. Big sensor in a tiny body.

Pentax K-5 | 2013—2018

Great DSLR! Built like a tank, with lovely ergonomics.

When it comes to lenses:

  • I’ve had the 2 kit lenses:
    • 18—55
    • 55—200
  • I’ve also used some old K-mount lenses:
    • 40/2.8
    • 50/1.7

I also had film Pentax cameras at the same time: the MX and the ME. Both were very compact and lovely to use. Almost made me forget about my M6…

Olympus XA

Tiny-but-capable rangefinder camera with a great 35/2.8 lens. I still have it, though the clamshell got busted somewhat…

Leica M6 TTL | 2011—2013

With a Voigtlander 35/1.4 Nokton lens (MC).

Probably the nicest camera I’ve ever owned; I regret selling it to this day – I couldn’t afford film back then!

Minolta 9000 AF

An autofocus camera with a manual film-advance lever? Yes please! Used with Minolta 50/1.7 prime and 35—70 zoom.

Canon 7D | 2010—2011

I used my old 28-135mm Canon lens with it. I somehow figured that this will be cool on a crop-sensor camera. It was not. Still, the 7D was a nice and responsive piece of gear.

Lumix L1 | 2010

With a Leica D Vario-Elmarit 1:2.8—3.5/14—50 ASPH lens, which was lovely.

The camera itself was a close collaboration with Olympus (the E-330 model) and had a funky rangefinder-style viewfinder in the top-left corner. It was quite slow to operate, but I had a lot of fun with it.

Lumix G1 | 2009—2010

With only a kit lens: Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f3.5-5.6. This was my first digital camera, as well as the very first mirrorless camera to the market in general. Using the EVF was quite the adjustment at first, but I loved its small size and it was quite capable!

Canon EOS 50E

With a 28—135mm Canon lens. Very cool eye-based autofocus; kinda useless with only 3 AF points!

Zenit 12XP

With a Helios 58/2 lens.

A soviet-era classic that I learned my ropes on. The 1/500 max shutter speed was kinda limiting in retrospect, but the Helios lens was truly lovely.
